Cousin Gene,
I am the great granddaughter of Intha Parthena Leech Robinson. My grandmother Maude Irene Robinson Carpenter and my mother is Thelma Jo Capenter Whitehead.
I have been meaning to get you some more information on the family but it is hard to type when you are right handed and you have a broken right wrist. I fell the last of January in the snow and ice and broke the right wrist. I'm hoping that I get the brace off this thursday. but will spend some time tomorrow getting more information to you.

I am sending you a copy of L.W. Leech's Bible, a copy of the letter that his father Joseph sent to Samuel Gosa and also a copy of a letter sent by Peter Gosa to Samuel Gosa. I believ that Peter and Samuel are Margaret Leech's brothers.
Is there anything else that you need?

   Hope you had a good Christmas and will have a good new year.
   I wanted to send you this picture of Intha Parthena (Thenia) Leech, taken
in 1902.
   On the back of picture it reads :
             To Mr. and Mrs.L.W. Leech
             From Mrs. C.C. Robinson
             as a medical student
             age 33.

Grandma Thenia graduated from Medical school in 1905.

INTHA PARTHENA (THENIE) LEECH was born on 21 Jan 1869 in CARTHAGE, PANOLA CO., TX. She graduated in 1905 in BAYLOR MEDICAL SCHOOL, GALVESTON, TX. She died on 26 Sep 1949 in BETHANY, CADDO PARISH, LA. She was buried in LINE CEMETERY S.E. BETHANY RT 3 MILES.

Thanks for the picture of Aunt Thenia.

I had met her several times. The last time I saw her she came to Lamesa about 1949. Aunt Kate, J. M. Petersons Wife, had been sick for some time and had been in the hospital.

Aunt Thenia went to Aunt Kate's home 3 miles east of Lamesa and went in her bed room to examine her.

Aunt Thenia came out later and announced that they sent her, Aunt Kate, home to die.

Shortly there after we buried Aunt Kate.

Yes you may use the picture of Grandma Thenia on your web site. She didn't outlive Aunt Kate by much as Grandma Thenia died in Sept.1949. I'll look at the other picures to see if we know when and where they were taken and let you know.

   I am sending you narrative report of the descendants of John Johnston and Cecelia Tatum the grandparents of Elizabeth Frankling Johnston Carter. Don't know if you have any of this.

Also think that there needs to be an explanation of the Gosa letters.

   " For years we (my mother and I ) have searched for the maiden name of Margaret Leech wife of Joseph Leech. We had several maiden names for her but could not connect her with any of them until I found the reference to the letters that had been printed in "Lamar county Alabama genealogy magazine. Based on the information contained in the letter from Joseph Leech to Sam Gosa I believe that Margaret is Sam's sister and the daughter of James Wallace Gosa Sr. In checking the rootsweb site for information on James Wallace Gosa, he had a daughter born in 1810 in Kentucky which is the same information that I found on Margaret Leech from census information"
